Understanding cats and their needs
My approach is based on ethology — the scientific study of behaviour — and a deep understanding of a cat's natural needs. Every cat is an individual, shaped by their history, genetics, and environment.
My role is not to "fix" your cat, but to decode with you what they are expressing through their behaviour. The behaviours that challenge you — litter box avoidance, aggressive displays, vocalizations, tension between cats — always make sense from the cat's perspective. My job is to identify this meaning, understand the triggers, and build a concrete action plan with your family to improve the situation.
No coercive methods, no punishment. The bond of trust between the cat and their human is the foundation of any sustainable support.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you wanted to know before booking a consultation.
What's the difference between a behaviour consultant, a vet, and a trainer?
Your vet handles your cat's physical and medical health: diagnosing, treating, prescribing. A behaviour consultant doesn't treat illness — they analyse your cat's behaviour through the lens of ethology and animal psychology, to understand what your cat is expressing and to guide your human family toward concrete solutions. The two roles are complementary. As for trainers, they mostly work with dogs: cats aren't trained — they are observed, understood, and supported in line with their natural needs.
How many sessions are usually needed to resolve a situation?
Most situations are handled in a single consultation, sometimes followed by one or two complementary sessions. The initial behavioural assessment provides an analysis, identifies triggers, and proposes a concrete action plan; many human families then make progress on their own with this framework. More complex situations — long-standing anxiety, deeply rooted tensions between cats — may require longer follow-up. I always give an honest estimate at the end of the first meeting.
What actually happens during a behavioural assessment at home?
The session takes place at your home, in your cat's everyday environment — this is essential to observe the situation as it really is. The time is divided between an in-depth conversation with your human family, a discreet observation of your cat in their space, and an analysis of your home's layout and the resources available (resting areas, water points, litter boxes, perches, etc.). At the end of the meeting, I share a personalised action plan with you, and you then receive a detailed written report. Follow-up by email and phone is included for one month.
Does my cat need to be there? Should the whole family be present?
Your cat is at home: they'll naturally be present, but please don't pull them out of a hiding spot or force them to interact. My role is precisely to observe them as they are, freely. On the human side, I appreciate when the people who live with the cat or interact with them regularly can attend the session: everyone is part of the relationship, and the information shared is more complete that way.
Do you work alongside my vet?
Yes, and it's often essential. Many behaviours that seem purely behavioural can actually have an underlying medical cause: joint pain, urinary or digestive issues, hormonal imbalances can all profoundly change a cat's behaviour. I systematically recommend a veterinary check-up before or alongside my accompaniment, and I can liaise directly with your vet if you wish. Behaviour and health are inseparable.
How long before I see results?
It depends a lot on the situation. Some adjustments to the living environment produce visible effects within a few days — for instance regarding out-of-box elimination linked to poor litter box placement or insufficient numbers. Other situations, such as long-standing anxiety or deep-rooted tensions between cats, require several weeks to several months of gradual implementation. I never promise results by a fixed date: a cat is a living being, not a machine. But I always provide a realistic range at the end of the initial assessment.
How do I know if my cat has a behavioural issue or a medical one?
The rule is simple: any sudden or unusual change in behaviour should be checked by a vet first. A cat who suddenly starts urinating outside their box, hiding, no longer eating, or becoming irritable may be expressing physical discomfort above all. The behaviour consultant steps in once the medical aspect has been ruled out or treated by your vet. If you have any doubt, feel free to reach out: I'll guide you transparently.
Do you offer video consultations?
Not at the moment. I prefer home visits, as they allow me to observe your cat in their actual environment and pick up on elements that are often invisible remotely: the layout of the rooms, the placement of resources, areas of tension, subtle body signals. This direct observation is integral to the quality of my work, and I'd rather only offer a service I'm fully satisfied with.
